What is the difference between the anodized and pre-painted aluminum finish?
Anodized aluminum is aluminum that is put put into a tank of caustic and it etches some of the aluminum off and it creates a new finish. It holds up to weather much better. Pre-painted aluminum is just that. It’s aluminum that has been painted. I worked in the aluminum extrusion industry for 19 years.

Help ID “Ercuis” silver object (salt grinder?)?
It is a silver footed bowl-like object with a lever on the top of the lid that leads to a foot that scrapes the bottom of the bowl. The lid locks into place so not to spill the contents. There are 3 thin slits on the bottom of the bowl part that allow for the contents of the bowl to sprinkle out when the lever is pushed down.
Stamped on the bottom are the numbers 39 753, under that is the word “ERCUIS” and under that is a small logo and a small stamped “20″
Looks like it was meant to be used as a salt grinder
